West Parry Sound Joint Election Compliance Audit Committee

The West Parry Sound Joint Election Compliance Audit Committee represents the Township of Carling, the Municipality of McDougall, the Township of McKellar, the Town of Parry Sound, the Township of Seguin and The Township of The Archipelago to perform duties related to Municipal Election Candidates Expenses as required under the Municipal Elections Act, including:

• Consider any compliance audit application received from an elector and decide whether it should be granted or rejected.
• If the application is granted the Committee shall appoint an auditor to conduct a compliance audit of the candidate's election campaign finances.
• Receive the auditor's report to decide whether legal proceedings should be commenced.

The term of the Committee shall be consistent with the term of Council (4 years).  The Committee will meet as needed with meetings to be scheduled when a compliance audit application is received and requires disposition.

Committee Members receive an annual retainer of $300.00 and remuneration of $75.00 per diem for attendance at meetings, plus mileage.
