The Building Department provides a number of important services to the ratepayers of Seguin Township. These include: examining all proposals for new construction, renovations and alterations, to ensure conformity with the Ontario Building Code, as well as Seguin's Official Plans and Zoning By-laws; enforcing all Township By-laws; providing interpretation of current Zoning By-laws and input to the Planning Department on all proposed development; providing advice and compliance letters, regarding existing By-laws, Zoning, Building Code and the Official Plans to the ratepayers, prospective property purchasers, lawyers and planners.

Department personnel are all well trained professionals, with "Certified Building Code Official" designations or a speciality in By-law Enforcement.
