We all have hazardous wastes in our homes - all those odd cans of paint, stain, cleaners, batteries, oil and other similar products that were never quite used up or are too old and dirty to use anymore. Putting them in the garbage or down the drain, certainly isn't the answer - that just pollutes our lakes and landfills. Seguin Township does provide an alternative.
Seguin Township residents may take their Household Hazardous Waste to the MacFarlane Street Household Hazardous Waste Depot, in Parry Sound, free of charge.
NOTICE
The Household Hazardous Waste Depot opens for the season on Sunday, April 15th, 2012. Hours of operation:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Please note the Depot will be closed on the following statutory holidays: Victoria Day (May 21), Canada Day (July 1), Civic Holiday (August 6), Labour Day (September 3) and Thanksgiving Day (October 8).
Directions to the MacFarlane Street Transfer Station - Parry Sound
Take the Bowes Street exit off of Highway #400/69. Continue along Bowes Street to lights on Bowes Street and Forest Street. Turn left onto Forest Street and continue to the end. Turn right onto Parry Sound Drive then make the first left onto Emily Street. The first left off Emily Street is MacFarlane Street. Continue to the end of the street, past the Public Works buildings to the transfer station. Please ensure you have proof of your Seguin Township residency.
